New York Insurance Continuing Education (CE) Courses

State Proctor/Monitor Requirements:

• Exams MUST BE monitored by a state approved monitor for New York insurance continuing education.

NY Insurance Continuing Education Online Renewal Requirements:

• Licenses expire on the Agent's date of birth.
• Agents born in even years will renew in even years and Agents born in odd years will renew in odd years. A newly issues license will be between 24 and 48 months duration.

State Specific (required) Courses:

• New York insurance CE courses must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
• All New York licensed resident insurance producers who sell federal flood insurance policies shall be required to complete a one time 3 hour requirement on flood insurance.
• Life and Health / Property and Casualty - Combined licensees must complete the full New York Insurance CE requirement in courses approved for Life and Health and the full CE requirement for Property and Casualty. Courses that are approved for Property and Casualty and Life and Health may be applied to the Life and Health requirement and the Property and Casualty requirement, if taken within the biennial licensing period.

• The compliance date is the agent's date of birth, every 2 years.
• Agents born in odd-numbered years renew in odd-numbered years.
• Agents born in even-numbered years renew in even-numbered years.
